Emily and Mitch's Wedding
May 30, 2020
This was a wedding for the books! Not only did Emily and Mitch keep their original wedding date and get married in middle of a pandemic with the sweetest intimate wedding and small backyard reception, but they also did it on the weekend of protest and riots breaking out in Minneapolis and Saint Paul in honor of George Floyd. These two wouldn't let anything come between their marriage, and I respect that so much. Their ceremony was held at PAIKKA in Saint Paul Minnesota, with a reception in the brides parents back yard in Roseville, MN. The ceremony only had 6 guests, their parents and brothers. After the ceremony was finished, Emily and Mitch's friends surprised them with a parade of cars behind the venue! There was honking, tears, signs and cheers, and it was all so sweet!! Even if they couldn't have all their friends present for their vows, they were able to share the moment from afar. After the parade had driven by, the bride and grooms parents had another surprise in store. They surprised the newly married couple with a limo to exit in and drive home to their friends! This was extra special I soon learned, because both of the bride and groom's parents had also had limos at their wedding, and took almost identical wedding photos that hang next to each other at their home! How cute?! The reception was filled with smiles, drinks, good food and dancing. It was the perfect night off from a heavy world, and I cannot wait for their bigger celebration they plan to host next year with all their friends and family present!
